Explore the Reservoirs of the South Pennines with this New App

Those of us living in developed countries in the twenty first century take it for granted that when we turn on the tap, fresh clean water will come gushing out. The South Pennines enjoys the greatest density of reservoirs in the country thanks to its natural geology of high ground and steep valleys which enable water catchment on a grand scale. Many residents living in this area continue to have a direct link to the moorland landscape through their taps.

This app is one of a suite of on-line resources to help you to explore the fascinating life histories of the reservoirs of the South Pennines: Downloadable trails (here) and a Spotters Podscroll (here).

Available on Android (here) and iOS (here)
