Picturing the Landscape - A talk with Simon Warner

Join us at 2pm on Saturday 23rd June at Manor House Museum, Ilkley for a free talk with Simon Warner our Watershed Landscape year three artist-in-residence.

Simon will talk about his work during his residency and in particular his inspiration and reflections on the appeal of Haworth Moor and the East Lancashire moorlands, as a kind of frontier zone between the everyday world and something more testing and unfamiliar.

He has a particular interest in the appeal of the moors to artists and writers past and present, obviously the Brontës, but also local artists like Joseph Pighills.

Simon will also highlight the work he has been doing for his final exhibition Ways to the stone house which will show at The Bronte Parsonage Museum from September 28th until December 3rd and talk about his own journey from using black and white photography to video.

There is no parking at Manor House Museum but local car parks in the centre of Ilkley are only a short walk from the museum.
