Wuthering Heights - Top Withins Reconstruction
Aside from the associations with the Brontë story, Top Withins has its own story to tell. Today there is little habitation, but farmers made their livelihood in the harsh environment of the South Pennines for centuries. At high altitude above the Worth Valley, farming has survived since at least the 16th century.
Blending archive material, archive plans and computer generated images, a video was produced by Jonathan Heap and DP Squared that shows the landholdings and buildings in the Sladen Valley – once a highly populated South Pennine valley.
Based on the archive research of local historian Steven Wood.
