Anna Turner at Ogden

Anna Turner is a writer, a runner, a long distance walker, a mother, a teacher and a reader development librarian. Her first novel, 'Falling Through Clouds', was published in 2010 by Bluemoose Books under her maiden name, Anna Chilvers. She studied English Literature at UCL and also has an MA in Creative Writing from Sheffield Hallam University. She teaches fiction writing for the WEA, and organises readers events for Calderdale Council. She is also a director of The Elmet Trust.

In 2010 Anna completed her first marathon with her husband to celebrate 20 years of marriage. In 2012 she walked the Coast to Coast footpath with her husband and 9 year old son, along with their border collie, Bet.

For the Inspired by Landscape project Anna wrote a series of short stories entitled 'Legging it', available from the Hebden Bridge Tourist Information Centre. She is interested in how people mark and shape the landscape, and also how they respond to it emotionally, and she ran writing workshops where these ideas could be explored.
