Char March

Char March is a multi-award-winning poet, playwright and fiction writer. Her credits include three poetry collections, six BBC Radio 4 plays, seven stage plays and numerous short stories. She is also a highly-experienced tutor in creative writing, is a Lecturer in Creative Writing for Leeds College of Art & Design, and has recently finished 18 months as Writer-in-Residence for Leeds Hospitals. Char grew up in Central Scotland, now lives in the Yorkshire Pennines and still spends a lot of time in the Highlands.

Char worked closely with both Cliffe Castle Museum and Saddleworth Museum, and with adults and children from across the Watershed area. She ran writing workshops up on the moors, and encouraged people who have never tried creative writing to see their landscape in completely new ways. She worked with deaf children, other artists, local nursing homes and hospices to get people out onto the moors, and to take the moors into them!
