An Introduction to Geocaching
24th September, 10am – 12 noon.
An introductory session to find out more about this new exciting way of exploring the countryside using modern technology.
The goal of geocaching is to hunt out carefully hidden containers called geocaches using latitude and longitude coordinates from maps and satellite navigation devices called GPS (Global Positioning System) receivers. It is really easy to get involved and is a great fun family activity which can be done for free if you have the use of a GPS unit or a mobile phone which you can use to download a geocaching app.
