Moor Views Photography Competition

The Watershed Landscape Project team are asking you to be inspired by the upland landscape of the South Pennines and help them capture the essence of the moorlands through photographs.

From March 2011 the Watershed Landscape Project will be hosting a year long photography competition to capture the best images from all four seasons on the South Pennine uplands.

See below for full details on how to enter and make sure we capture your favourite special place!

The Watershed Landscape Inspired by Landscape photography competition is open to anyone living, working or studying in the UK. The competition will run from 1st March 2011 until 28th February 2012.

The Watershed Landscape Project is all about helping people to understand, care for, enjoy and make use of the unique and inspiring South Pennines upland landscape. The most northern edge of the project area includes Ilkley and Rombalds Moor and then follows the Pennine spine taking in the upland areas above Howarth, Hebden Bridge, Burnley before moving south to Todmorden Moor, Saddleworth Moor, Denshaw and Marsden Moors above Rochdale and Oldham.

Entries that fall outside the geographical project area may not be included in the competition – please refer to the Watershed Landscape map to ensure your photographs can be included.

Photographs may include animals and people but please ensure you have permission from anyone featured on photographs to enter the competition before submitting the image.

Work in must be supplied as a 5” x 7” printed photograph and should be stored digitally at a high resolution as winning entries will be printed at a larger size to be exhibited.

Each entrant may submit up to 4 photographs during the competition (allowing you to enter one image for each season). Every photograph must be labelled on the back with the entrants name, telephone number, email address and the category under which the image is being submitted – including the date/season and where the photograph was taken; for example ‘under 18s, Summer, Ilkley Moor’.

All works will be submitted to a selection panel and entrants will be notified of its decision. The decision of the panel is final. Prizes will be awarded at the discretion of the panel.

Please ensure you keep a copy of any images submitted. Pennine Prospects will be unable to return any entries.

Closing dates:
For Spring entries: 31st May 2011
For Summer entries: 31st August 2011
For Autumn entries: 30th November 2011
For Winter entries: 28th February 2012
