Working with National Character Areas, Profiles in Practice

The South Pennines Watershed Landscape Project is the UK Landscape Award winner of 2012 and now goes forward as the UK Government entry to the Council of Europe Landscape Award. Funded by HLF, it is part of a national Landscape Partnership Programme that will see significant investment in our treasured landscapes over the next five years.  Come and hear how the Project was influenced by the National Character Area Profile for the Southern Pennines. [As part of its responsibilities in delivering the Natural Environment White Paper and the European Landscape Convention, Natural England is updating and improving the profiles for all 159 of the National Character Areas].
